Ilana Davidson

cantorial_soloist_cv.pdf |
The first time Ilana Davidson performed the duties of a High Holyday cantorial soloist, she was 19 years old and a sophomore at Carnegie Mellon University working on her BFA in Voice and Opera. Congregation Rodeph Shalom (Pgh, PA) sought her out to conduct the overflow services because of her voice, her knowledge of Jewish liturgy and synagogue music, and her continuous work with her father and mentor, renowned Cantor and composer Charles Davidson.
Since then, Ilana has continuously shared her moving interpretations in synagogues and Jewish organizations, performing works of Jewish composers in Hebrew, Ladino, Sardinian, Arabic, Russian and Yiddish.
Ilana Davidson has served as Cantorial soloist in Rodeph Shalom (Pittsburgh, PA), Temple Emanuel (Davenport, IA), Temple Sinai (Stamford, CT), and at the North Fork Synagogue in New York.
